Fort Wayne is among the nation's top 10 Best Places to Earn and
Save Money in year 2000, according to a study commissioned by ReliaStar Financial Corp., of Minnesota. In 1999, Fort Wayne
ranked No.21 on a list of the top 50 U.S. Best Small Metro Areas in
America for Starting and Growing a Business, in December'99 Inc.Magazine's issue.
Located in the northeast section of Indiana, Fort Wayne covers 77.6
square miles and has an elevation of 790 feet above sea level. Fort Wayne is within a 250 mile radius of 17% of the total U.S
population, and within a day's drive of half the nation's population.
The city's nationally recognized local park system received the "Gold Medal
Award" from the National Park and Recreation Association. Hundreds of lakes offer fishing, boating and water enthusiasts
year-round recreation.
